Honoring Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

May officially marks Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, which honors the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans on the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

As we highlighted last year, this is a very special holiday for Makpar. In 2008, the company was founded by an immigrant family from Pakistan, who had a vision for helping to transform government mission success through innovation.

As a family- and minority-owned business, the foundation of this vision is the company’s culture of diversity and inclusion. This vision also helped the company to establish itself as a key partner to the federal government.

Beyond being a key government IT innovator, Makpar has gained a reputation for being a company that truly cares for its employees, which translates into the development of the most cutting-edge solutions.

For example, Makpar has been named an Inc. Magazine “Best Place to Work” for three years in a row – with 98 percent of its employees saying that it's a great place to work.  It was also named to the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Companies in 2021.

Here are some direct employee testimonials in honor of “Great Place to Work Day 2021.” This can also be seen first hand in this Employee Spotlight with Phung Ngo, who discusses her transition from being an intern at Makpar to being the UX/Front End Developer at the company.

Of course, Makpar is not the only organization to celebrate AAPI. The Department of Defense also pays tribute to the contributions and dedicated service of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and NASA also honors this holiday.

Makpar is proud to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and looks forward to continuing its heritage of innovation development for government now, and well into the future.
