Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Spotlight on Makpar CEO

CEO of Makpar, Seema Khan

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans to our country's history, culture, and achievements.

For the last three years, we have been highlighting the value and accomplishments that Asian Americans have had on government IT, as well as on creating innovations that are changing our world for the better.

This year, we are going to shine a light on Seema Khan, co-founder and CEO of Makpar Corporation, a Pakistani-American who has achieved great success in government IT.

Seema, who was born and raised in Pakistan, came to the United States in the late 1980s to pursue her education, and explored entrepreneurial opportunities in the Washington, D.C. area.  As a result, Seema, along with her husband Mushtaq, founded Makpar in 2008.

Over the years, Makpar has grown into company that not only specializes in delivering complex technology solutions to government agencies, but has also gained a reputation for being an employee-centric organization focused on diversity and inclusion.

This special culture has enabled Makpar to be named an Inc. Magazine “Best Place to Work” three years in a row. In addition, Makpar has seen tremendous growth through key contract wins with the Small Business Administration, the Department of Labor, as well as with the Internal Revenue Service.

Seema’s story is a powerful example of the contributions that Asian Pacific Americans have made to our country's success. Asian Pacific Americans have a rich and diverse heritage, and they have played a significant role in shaping America's culture, economy, and political landscape.

Makpar would like to thank Seema for her strategic vision for making a company culture that is fully grounded in diversity and empowering all employees to be their best.

Once again, Makpar is proud to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and looks forward to continuing its heritage of innovation development for government now, and well into the future.
