Makpar Momentum 2025: A Day of Strategy, Collaboration, Growth, and Squirrels

Last month, the Makpar team gathered for an off-site strategy session, called Makpar Momentum. It was an engaging and empowering experience that allowed us to build stronger connections as a team, exchange ideas, and fuel our shared passion for accelerating access to critical services for American citizens.

Following are some of the key highlights from Makpar Momentum.

Building Momentum for the Future

The event provided an opportunity to reflect on our progress, discuss strategic initiatives, and set the stage for continued success. Even with uncertainties in the Federal government landscape, we remain committed to building a strong, reliable company that delivers real impact.

One of the highlights of the day was a government proposal exercise led by the Growth Team. Participants worked on a mock DHS RFP that humorously focused on utilizing squirrels to enhance cybersecurity efforts. While the challenge was lighthearted, it provided a creative way to refine our problem-solving skills and approach complex scenarios with innovation.

A Unique Perspective on Growth

This fun and insightful LinkedIn article by Ann Swinderman, Makpar’s new Technical Proposal Writer, drew parallels between Makpar’s growth and some interesting facts about squirrels. Just as squirrels play a crucial role in reforestation by burying nuts, Makpar is setting the stage for future growth, innovation, and meaningful change. Since 2008, our company has experienced steady expansion, demonstrating our commitment to progress and excellence.

Celebrating Teamwork and Welcoming New Leadership

The event wrapped up with a game of Makpar Jeopardy, bringing the team together for some friendly competition – with our very own Ryan Vanderhoof, Marketing & Research Analyst at Makpar, playing the role of Alex Trebek.

In addition, Makpar President Kaamil Khan introduced Jessica Alfaro as the company’s new VP of Technology. With her leadership and expertise, we are well-positioned to continue delivering innovative solutions and driving positive change in government IT.

Moving Forward with Purpose

Makpar Momentum reinforced the strength of our team and the vision we share for the future. By fostering collaboration, embracing creativity, and staying committed to our mission, we are ready to take on new challenges and opportunities. Here’s to continued growth and success!
